Horsham, PA, July 25, 2007, Mercury Commerce Solutions, a market leader in online procurement solutions for higher education and public sector organizations, today announced that the State of South Dakota has selected Mercury Commerce to provide e-procurement solutions and services for the State of South Dakota and its agencies. Jeff T. Holden, Director of the Office of Procurement Management for South Dakota, has led the State’s efforts in implementing cost-saving technology to automate the procurement process, including the utilization of an online vendor registration and notification system and purchasing cards to automate the payment process. While the State has benefited from these process improvements, Jeff pointed out that “Procurement Management did not have the budget to automate the total purchasing process.” The State of South Dakota issued a request for proposals (RFP) to select the vendor who will take the State’s procurement to the next level. After comparing features and functionality, service and support levels and pricing, the State awarded its electronic procurement RFP to Mercury Commerce Solutions. “Ease of use for State and agency users and support for our procurement improvement initiatives were important factors,” said Jeff. “We found that Mercury Commerce really excelled in these areas and provided the best value when compared to the other RFP responses.” “From the moment we received this award, our whole team has been focused on South Dakota,” said Andy Flanagan, Co-Founder and CEO of Mercury Commerce Solutions. “We have the solutions, services and support to make South Dakota successful.”
